Why is Prayer so Important in Islam?

Our whole purpose in life, the sole reason why mankind was created, is to worship Allah. Allah Says in The Noble Quran (interpretation of meaning), “I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me” (Quran 51:56). Therefore, no matter what someone does or has in his or her life, the most important aspect in this worldly life is his or her relationship with the One who created them. That is why the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said, “Indeed the first deed by which a servant will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is his Salat (prayer). If it is complete, he is successful and saved, but if it is defective, he has failed and lost” (Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 413). Therefore, the most imperative action in a Muslim’s life is their prayer, as it reflects their belief, sincerity, God-consciousness, and love to the One who brought them into existence.

And Allah Knows best.
