Reasons
why Islam allows polygamy All instructions in Islam are from God, the wise, and therefore the benefits for human beings and for society outweigh the damage in all permitted things. If you analyze the reasons and results that come from allowing polygamy, you will find that the rules of Islamic religion are really appropriate for all times and places, since their source is God, the Almighty, the Wise and the All-Knowing.
As the Quran shows (4: 3), polygamy in Islam is to be understood as the light of society for the orphans and widows. Islam as a universal religion, suitable for all times and places, cannot ignore these imperative obligations.
Islamic polygamy is directed against the social problems that arise from prostitution and extramarital relationships and are omnipresent in the West. Instead of cheating – infidelity is one of the main reasons for divorce in the West – Islam allows a man to marry more than one woman, provided that he fully respects the rights of both. The basic principle in Islam is that men are responsible for their behavior towards women, just like women are responsible for their behavior towards men.
The number of women in the world exceeds that of men. This majority is the result of more men dying in wars and violent crimes and the generally higher life expectancy of women. [1] The surge in homosexuality further exacerbates this problem. Bertrand Russell wrote: „And in all countries in which there are an overwhelming number of women, there is an obvious injustice that women who have to remain mathematically unmarried should also be denied any sexual experience.“ [2] Polygamy thus provides is the only responsible solution to this predicament. Let’s take the US as an example. Why are extramarital relationships so common? „What makes this condition possible, of course, is the willingness to offer women. Most are single, both because of the ever increasing number of unmarried women (that’s 34 million in the US today) and because they usually have more free time and energy than theirs Married sisters, let’s consider these statistics: one in five women doesn’t have a potential spouse these days simply because there aren’t enough men, and a 25-year-old girl is seriously under-served with men and the situation gets worse the older the woman gets. For divorced men, it’s much more likely that they will marry again than for divorced women (and they tend to marry younger women), so there are more than twice as many unmarried women in their 40s as men. In fact, a woman who divorces at 35 today will most likely remain unmarried until the end of her life. Caught in a demographic cul-de-sac and striving for greater independence, more and more single women are looking for a connection with married men. ”[4] will most likely remain unmarried until the end of her life. Trapped in a demographic cul-de-sac and striving for greater independence, more and more single women are looking for a connection with married men. ”[4] will most likely remain unmarried until the end of her life. Caught in a demographic cul-de-sac and striving for greater independence, more and more single women are looking for a connection with married men. ”[4]
The overwhelming number of women who are not financially supported by a husband is also the reason for an increase in prostitution in society. Germany, for example, has 0.96 men: 1.0 women. According to the German social reforms, every woman under the age of 55 who has been out of work for more than a year can be forced to take an available job – this includes working as a prostitute in the sex industry – or lose her right to unemployment benefits! [5] A study from In 1994, it was found that 16% of 18-59 year old men in a study group had paid sex (Gagnon, Laumann, and Kolata 1994).
In addition, the problem of unbalanced gender distribution in times of war can be exacerbated. The war brides problem after World War II was such a phenomenon. After the Second World War there were 7,300,000 more women than men in Germany alone (3.3 million of whom were widows). For every 100 men 20-30, there were 167 women in the same age group. Many of these women needed a man not only as a companion, but also as a household provider during this time of unprecedented hardship. The soldiers from the victorious Allied army took advantage of the vulnerability of these women. Many young girls and widows had affairs with members of the occupying powers. Many American and British soldiers paid with cigarettes, chocolate, and bread for their enjoyment. [6]
Polygamy is an alternative to divorce in some cases of marital problems. Instead of divorcing a sick or sterile woman, Islam allows the man to marry another woman and still care for the first one if she wants to stay with him.
The teachings of Islam, including polygamy, fit the nature of people. Men and women differ in their desire for sexual variety. This difference is general. According to evolutionists, men are out to spread their semen. Everywhere, regardless of whether married or not, men want more sexual partners than women do. The Islamic solution has the only responsible alternative for the natural implanted desire of men. [7]
There is a universal biological constraint in male and female reproduction. A woman’s reproductive ability begins at around 20 years of age and ends with her menopause, but a man can still father children at over 70 years of age. [8] Polygamy is a solution for a man who wants more children, especially in traditional agricultural societies. This appears to be irrelevant from a western point of view, where childbearing becomes more and more independent of marriage. Polygamy is also an alternative for men who want to pursue their natural sexual desire within the covenant of marriage, but whose wife behaves negatively due to age or illness. Islam also prohibits intercourse with a woman during her monthly rule. For this reason, a man whose wife has an extended monthly rule prohibiting him from having sexual intercourse with her, or a man whose sexual desire cannot be satisfied by one woman alone, could marry another. Islam allows men to fulfill their desires legally by holding them accountable for their sexuality so that they do not seek refuge in illicit relationships or prostitution.
Institutional polygamy controls the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as herpes and AIDS. Such venereal diseases spread in diverse societies in which extramarital affairs and prostitution are widespread. A monogamous husband can bring such diseases home to his wife if he has had an extramarital affair.
One can clearly see that many advantages result from the permission of polygamy. Many social diseases remain untreated if they are not even promoted or aggravated by the modern restrictions imposed on polygamy. You should not always consider your own culture and time as the highest in history, but rather analyze the customs, traditions and beliefs based on solid and tangible facts. If people do this, keep an alert mind and an open heart, they will come closer and closer to the truth until it becomes as clear to them as the light of the day.
