From the moment man opens his eyes to this world, a great order surrounds him. It needs oxygen to survive; it is interesting that the atmosphere of the planet on which it lives provides more than just the amount of oxygen it needs, so it breathes without difficulty. The existence of a heat source is vital for existence on this earth. To meet this need, the sun is located at just the right distance so that it radiates the amount of heat and energy that human life requires. Humans need food to survive, and every end of this world is teeming with amazingly diverse supplies. Likewise, humans need water, and surprisingly three quarters of the earth are covered by water.
These are just a few of the billions of details that make life on this earth possible. In short: man lives on a planet that is perfectly equipped for survival. Certainly this planet is “made for human beings”, as God says in the Quran:
“Have you not seen that God has served you everything that is in heaven and what is on earth, and (that He) His blessings poured abundantly over you – in a visible and invisible manner? … ”(Quran 31:20)
A person’s interpretation of the world is based on “acquired ways of thinking”. That means he thinks in the way he has learned, or less pleasingly, in the way that he has been taught. Under this deception, he often fails to perceive the things previously mentioned as “everyday realities”. However, if he takes a step aside on this matter, out of everyday unity, and begins to question which requirements make our existence possible at all, then he will surely exceed the limits of habitual thinking and start to think:
why the atmosphere serves as a shield for the earth?
How does each of the billions of cells in the human body know what to do and how does it do its job?
Why does this extraordinary ecological balance exist on earth?
Someone looking for answers to these questions will surely choose the right path. He does not remain unresponsive to the things that are going on around him, and he will not protect ignorance about the extraordinary nature of the world. Someone who asks questions, thinks about things, and seeks answers to these questions will realize that every inch of this earth obeys a plan and an order:
how did this flawless order come about in this entire universe?
Who established the delicate balance in the world?
Who created creatures that differ so incredibly in their nature?
If you work tirelessly to find answers to these questions, you will soon become aware that every thing in this universe is subject to an order, every living being and every structure is part of a plan, the work of a design. Every detail: the excellent structure of an insect wing, the system that enables a tree to carry tons of water to its top branches, the order of the planets and the ratio of gases in the atmosphere; all of these are examples of perfection.
The creator is discovered in every detail of the infinitely diverse world. God, the owner of every thing in the universe, reveals Himself in the impeccable design of His creation. Everything that surrounds us, the flying birds, our heartbeat, the birth of a child or the existence of the sun in the sky reveal the power of God and His creation. And what man has to do is recognize this fact.
We owe our existence to the fact that every thing was created. An intelligent person notices this planning, design and wisdom in every detail of this infinitely diverse world. This directs him to recognize the Creator.
So don’t rely on your ignorance, because everything, be it alive or not, testifies to the existence and greatness of God – look at the things around you. Do your best to show appreciation for the eternal greatness of God. Because God’s existence is so obvious that if we ignore it, we will only start to do ourselves the greatest harm we can ever do to ourselves. It’s just that God doesn’t need anything or anyone. He is the one who shows His greatness in all things and in all ways.
God is the owner of everything, the heavens and the earth. We learn about God’s qualities in the Quran:
“God – there is no God except Him, the Eternal One, the One who sustains. Neither sleep nor sleep seizes him. He owns what is in the heavens and what is on earth. Who is it that could intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what’s in front of them and what’s behind them; but they understand nothing of His knowledge unless what He wants. His throne extends far over the heavens and the earth, and it is not difficult for him to maintain them (both). And He is the High, the Exalted. ” (Quran 2: 255)
